Credit war over Mission Shakti: Is BJP trying to build on 'national security' as poll plank?

Soon after Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday announced that Indian scientists have successfully demonstrated anti-satellite missile capability by shooting down a live satellite, a war of words has erupted between the BJP and the Opposition.

Union minister Arun Jaitley accused the erstwhile UPA government of not granting scientists the permission to build the country's own anti-satellite missile. He said the UPA government lacked "capability and clarity".
