Was Alok Verma targetted because he tried probing Rafale Deal?

Various questions were raised after CBI Director Alok Verma and Special Director Rakesh Asthana were locked in a pitched battle. Congress alleged that Verma was targetted as he was about to probe into controversial Rafale deal. BJP has refuted the claim rhetorically asking whether Congress can read minds.
