Is Statue of Unity BJP's political gimmick ahead of elections?

Prime Minister Modi has repeatedly said that Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was sidelined as prime minister so that the Nehru-Gandhi family could become larger than life. He said that with the Statue of Unity, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel will be given his rightful place in politics.
