Was BJP-PDP alliance in Jammu and Kashmir destined to fail?

President Ram Nath Kovind has approved Governor's Rule in Jammu and Kashmir a day after Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) withdrew from its alliance with People's Democratic Party headed by Mehbooba Mufti.

This will be the fourth time, after in 2008, 2015 and 2016, that Governor NN Vohra will be commanding the state under section 92 of J-K Constitution.

Did the BJP outsmart the PDP by ending the alliance on their own terms?
