S Jaishankar doubles down on Katchatheevu row

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar today addressed a press conference explaining the relevance of the Katchatheevu issue.

"We know who did this, what we don't know is who hid it...We believe that the public has the right to know how this situation came up," Jaishankar said, doubling down on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's charge at the Opposition over the Katchatheevu island row.

Jawaharlal Nehru, the country's first Prime Minister, wanted to give away the island to Sri Lanka, he said.
