Whether in our homes, our offices, on roads, or in public buildings, there are hundreds and thousands of closed-circuit television cameras, or CCTVs for short, that have been installed for surveillance and monitoring of activity. What is worrying is that a majority of the CCTV cameras are made by Chinese companies that are alleged to have links with the Chinese government. Given the recent hostilities between India and China, security experts fear that these are susceptible to misuse and can be tapped by the Chinese intelligence agencies to acquire sensitive information.
