Operation rat-hole mining in Meghalaya; Poaching politics in Karnataka

Barely 25 km from where at least 15 miners are feared dead after floodwaters gushed in on December 13, India Today's special investigative team went deep inside a rat-hole mine to expose illegal mines and coal mafia in Meghalaya.

The operator of an illicit coalfield said that they make Rs 2,000 per ton of coal and it comes down to Rs 80,000, or even Rs 1 lakh, per truckload.
