SC acquits scribe arrested for comment on Yogi: Is it time to scrap to criminal defamation law?

The Supreme Court on Tuesday granted bail to the freelance journalist Prashant Kanojia, who was lately held by Uttar Pradesh police for allegedly making objectionable remarks against Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and BJP stalwart Yogi Adityanath.

However, the top court said the bail does not mean it approves of Prashant Kanojia's tweets or any of his social media posts.
