Court pulls up Vijay for fleeing from Karur stampede site, Annamalai exclusive, more

In a big setback, Madras High Court pulled up actor Vijay and the TVK in the Karur stampede case. The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court came down heavily on Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) leaders in connection with the Karur stampede, observing that party chief Vijay “fled from the scene of occurrence” and that the party had not even expressed remorse. The High Court also questioned the state administration probe, but ruled out a CBI probe into the case.

BJP leader K. Annamalai attributed responsibility to the DMK government, rejecting attempts to blame TVK. The programme also covers environmental activist Sonam Wangchuk's detention under the National Security Act. His wife, Gitanjali Angmo, has moved the Supreme Court with a habeas corpus plea, challenging the detention as illegal and alleging a "witch hunt" linked to his activism for Ladakh's Sixth Schedule status.
