2 Omicron cases detected in Karnataka: Will Omicron variant outrun Delta?

India's first two Omicron cases were reported in Karnataka. The first patient is from South Africa, who left India for Dubai, while the second patient is a man from Karnataka with no travel history. All primary and secondary contacts of both the patients have been traced and are being tested, the health ministry said.

Meanwhile, as many as 373 cases of the Omicron variant of SARS-CoV-2 have been reported from 29 nations, according to WHO data.
