NRC's dilemma: Lakhs face identity crisis in Assam

The latest episode of The Long Story focuses on the National Register of Citizens (NRC) dilemma in Assam. There are four millions Indians who are facing the existential question of to be or not to be. They have been asked to prove their citizenship.

The draft NRC was published on July 30 and included the names of 2.9 crore people out of the total 3.29 crore applications. There has been a huge controversy over the exclusion of 40 lakh people from the draft NRC.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday assured the people of Assam that no genuine citizen will be left out of the NRC.
