In an exclusive interview to India Today, Nobel laureate Abhijit Banerjee opened up about his days in JNU and how his views matched or mismatched with his contemporaries.

In a shocking revelation, Abhijit said that Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman was his friend during his days at JNU. "She was a pleasant person and her political views were not dramatically different from mine," he said.

However, Abhijit revealed that he was against Sitharaman's move to slash down corporate tax.
