Minor girl tortured by Gurugram couple; RBI hikes repo rate by 25 basis points to 6.5%; more

A 14-year-old girl was tortured and sexually assaulted for months by a couple in Gurugram, the police said. The minor was hired by the couple to take care of their child. On Tuesday, a joint team of police and Sakhi, a one-stop crisis centre, rescued the girl from New Colony, news agency PTI reported.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das announced on Wednesday that the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) has decided to hike the key interest rate by 25 basis points, taking the repo rate to 6.5 per cent.
