In Depth: Eastern disturbance over Citizenship Amendment Bill

The focus of this episode of In Depth is the controversial Citizenship Amendment Bill and the widespread protests over it in Northeast states.

A day after Rajya Sabha passed the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2019, fresh protests erupted across northeast. Meanwhile, mobile Internet, which was earlier suspended for 24 hours in Assam, now has been suspended for another 48 hours.

Even Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal appealed to the people of the state to maintain peace and calm.
