Pakistani teenager receives life-saving heart transplant in Chennai

A 19-year-old Pakistani girl, Ayesha Rashan, suffering from heart disease, received a free heart transplant in India. Ayesha initially visited India in 2014 to get a heart pump implanted, but when that failed, doctors recommended a transplant.

Unable to afford the Rs 35 lakh required, the Aishwaryam Trust and MGM Healthcare Hospital stepped in to cover the costs. The organ was transported from Delhi and the transplant was successfully performed despite initial complications. Ayesha now hopes to return to Pakistan and pursue her dream of becoming a fashion designer.
