Jamia students vow to continue protest, other universities come in solidarity

Protests over the Citizenship Amendment Act escalated across India on Sunday. Delhi Police used batons and teargas shells to disperse people and entered the Jamia Milia Islamia University campus, where tension prevailed as several persons were detained for alleged involvement in the violence.

Students from other universities including Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Tata Insititute of Social Sciences, Mumbai (TISS) and Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) have come in solidarity with the students of Jamia.
