G7 Summit: PM Modi, Donald Trump agree Kashmir is a bilateral issue

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump discussed the Kashmir issue on the sidelines of a G7 summit in France on Monday.

PM Narendra Modi, speaking alongside Trump, said the Kashmir issue was a bilateral one between India and Pakistan. Donald Trump admitted that he and PM Modi had discussed Kashmir.

Donald Trump said that India and Pakistan could handle their dispute over Kashmir on their own, but he was there should they need him.

The two leaders held 40-minute discussions in Biarritz, the French town which is hosting the meeting of the world's most industrialised nations.
