Bipin Rawat named India's first Chief of Defence Staff

The Narendra Modi government on Monday announced Indian Army chief General Bipin Rawat as India's first Chief of Defence Staff (CDS). General Rawat was named the Chief of Defence Staff just a day before his retirement from service. He is the first officer to hold the post of the Chief of Defence Staff. For more, watch this video.
