Bandh bleeds Bharat; Congress' Bharat Bandh takes life; more

The Bharat Bandh called by the Congress to protest the rising fuel prices has thrown normal life out of gear across the country. Congress chief Rahul Gandhi led the protest in New Delhi along with the leaders of various Opposition parties.

An ailing two-year-old girl died in Bihar's Jehanbad district during the Bharat Bandh on Monday, after her parents failed to find any transport to take her to a hospital for treatment.

The father of the two-year-old girl who died in Bihar, allegedly in the Bharat Bandh protests, told India Today's correspondent that she could be saved had there been no shutdown. He has alleged that due to the bandh, the family couldn't find a vehicle to take her to the hospital. However, a Sub-Divisional Officer said her death wasn't related to the bandh.

Some school buses were reportedly attacked by protesters in Pune.
