Rupee falls to a record low, should India be worried?

Closing at 81.94 per US dollar, the Rupee hit a fresh record low against the dollar on Wednesday. It is the fourth time in five sessions that the local unit has notched up it worst level against the dollar ever, dropping to almost 82 from 80 in a space of a week. While economists who advise the government say that the Indian currency has at least fared better than other global currencies like the British Pound and the Euro, is there really nothing to worry about?
