Indore's fiery Hingot battle injures 35 after Diwali

What began nearly 200 years ago as a warrior ritual has once again turned dangerous. In Indore’s annual Hingot Yuddh, villagers hurled flaming, gunpowder-filled fruits across a field in a post-Diwali clash between Turra and Kalangi teams. At least 35 were injured this year, five seriously. Despite calls for a ban, locals still defend the fiery fight as a symbol of pride and tradition.
