Sridevi died of accidental drowning, says death certificate

Sridevi's sudden death in Dubai sent shock waves in Bollywood. The 54-year-old actor, who was in Dubai to attend the wedding of her nephew Mohit Marwah, was found dead in the bathtub on February 24. Initially, the cause of her death was speculated to be cardiac arrest, but the post mortem report suggested otherwise.

The cause of Sridevi's death - accidental drowning - was confirmed by the Dubai government via its press arm's official Twitter account.

Quoting the Dubai Police, the Dubai Media Office tweeted that Sridevi died due to "due to drowning in her hotel apartment's bathtub following loss of consciousness."
