Following similar requests from the Malayalam and Tamil film industries, the Kannada film association wrote to Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, urging him to investigate allegations of sexual assault. Several Sandalwood actors met with the CM at his residence on Wednesday, September 4, to discuss the matter.
Actors including Sudeep, Divya Spandana, Diganth, Chetan, Pooja Gandhi, Aindrita Ray, Chaitra J Achar and Samyukta Hegde, among others demanded a committee led by a retired judge to investigate the issues faced by women in Sandalwood, including sexual harassment.Â
