When KK said he was in a rock band in Delhi, came to Mumbai with hopes of releasing an album

KK passed away on May 31 after performing at a live concert in Kolkata. In an old interview with India Today, KK talked about his musical journey in the industry. KK said, "I came to Mumbai in 1994-95 with the hopes of making an album. Western ka bhool savar tha. Prior to that, I was in a rock band in Delhi. I have done all kinds of music." KK also crooned some songs in his soulful voice.
