Rani Mukerji on breaking stereotypes, life beyond social media and motherhood

Actor Rani Mukerji, fresh off winning a National Award for her performance in Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway, reflected on her remarkable 30-year journey in films during Day Two of the India Today Conclave 2025. Speaking with Rajdeep Sardesai in her session titled 'Queen of Reinvention: National Award to Motherhood, Winning it All', the 47-year-old shared candid insights into her career and personal life.

When asked about her absence from social media, Mukerji brought humour to the stage, crediting her husband for her digital detox. “I’m not on social media because my husband prefers to stay out of the limelight, and I don’t want to get into trouble with fans asking, ‘Where’s your husband?’ - and I can’t exactly say, ‘He’s Mr India!’” she quipped, leaving the audience in splits.
