Actor Vikrant Massey has shut down rumours about being part of Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana, posting a clarification on his Instagram Story and later deleting it. Reacting to reports that he was replaced by Raghav Juyal, the actor stated that he was never associated with the film and criticised what he called irresponsible media coverage.

The speculation began after reports claimed Massey was set to play Meghanad, also known as Indrajit, the eldest son of Ravana and crown prince of Lanka. However, according to Variety India, Raghav Juyal has now been brought on board for Ramayana: Part 2, which is slated for a Diwali 2027 release.

Addressing the rumours, Vikrant called out media portal on Instagram for publishing the story. Resharing a post that suggested he was no longer part of the film, he wrote, "OK. To put things to rest, I was never a part of this movie. Am not, never was. Such irresponsible media coverage from "respectable" media houses is kinda appalling. Nonetheless, wishing everyone on Ramayana all the very best. Will surely buy a ticket and watch it in cinemas." The actor later deleted the Instagram Story, though the reason behind the move remains unclear.

Ramayana boasts a star-studded lineup, with Ranbir Kapoor portraying Lord Ram, KGF star Yash as Ravana, and Sai Pallavi as Sita. Sunny Deol is set to essay the role of Hanuman, while Ravie Dubey will appear as Lakshman.
