Brigadier Basant Ponwar reveals how commandos are trained to take on Naxals

Brigadier Basant K Ponwar, the director of Counter Terrorism and Jungle Warfare College in Kanker, Chhattisgarh, who has trained 34,000 commandos revealed how he and his men trained security personnel to take on Naxals.

The course, as he informed, is of 45 days during which the trainees are put through a rigorous physical training. If one fails to clear it within the 45 days, then the trainee needs to retake the course until he clears it.
