Author and oral historian Aanchal Malhotra and writer Samuel Dalrymple, both known for their work revolving around the partition of India, opened up about the stories of people who witnessed the partition on November 20 at Sahitya AajTak 2022.
Author of the books Remnants of a Separation and In the Language of Remembering: The Inheritance of Partition, Aanchal Malhotra shared that her grandparents came from across the border but never talked about the partition. âBut nobody (her grandparents) talked about the partition. So, I didn't grow up with any stories. When I started to ask about these stories, they would cross-question me on why I wanted to know,â she said.
During the session titled The Language of Remembering, Samuel Dalrymple, co-founder of Project Dastaan and son of historian William Dalrymple, opened up about his projects and the upcoming book.
