Winter Session: Opposition Demands Debate on SIR and Delhi Blast, Govt Lists 14 Bills

Ahead of the Winter Session of Parliament, the government held an all-party meeting to ensure smooth proceedings. Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju urged leaders to 'work with a calm mind' despite the 'emergency' or urgency of the issues. The government has listed 14 bills, including the Atomic Energy Bill 2025. However, the Opposition is set to corner the government on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and the recent Delhi Blast. CPI(M) MP John Brittas warned that 'if the parliament is stalled, disrupted', the responsibility would rest on the government.
