The first batch of the Rafale fighter aircraft finally landed at the Ambala airbase in Haryana on Wednesday to join the Indian Air Force, though a formal induction ceremony for the jets will be held later. Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria was in Ambala to welcome the Rafale jets.
Welcoming the French-made Rafale, a medium multi-role combat aircraft, Prime Minister Narendra Modi posted a tweet in Sanskrit outlining the importance of national security, while Defence Minister Rajanth Singh said the Raflale has given a timely boost to the capabilities of the Indian Air Force.
