The Supreme court delivered what can be called a 'fair' and 'balanced' order on the CBI director's plea: while Alok Verma has not been reinstated, only two weeks have been given to a SPC supervised CVC to investigate the matter.

In effect the Supreme Court has 'caged' the CBI while refusing to take sides in the ongoing political battle.
