Who is Atiq Ahmed?

Atiq Ahmed is the main accused in the murder case of BSP legislator Raju Pal, which took place in 2005. He is also accused of killing Umesh Pal, the prime witness in the murder.

The criminal-turned-politician was shifted to Sabarmati jail following a Supreme Court order in 2019 after he was accused of orchestrating the kidnapping and assault on a real estate businessman, Mohit Jaiswal, while in prison in UP.
