Dramatic drone footage reveals aftermath of deadly Kerala landslides

At least 54 people were killed and hundreds were feared trapped after massive landslides struck the hilly areas near Meppadi in Kerala's Wayanad district on Tuesday morning amid heavy rain.

Multiple agencies, including the NDRF and the Army, were deployed for rescue operations as three landslides hit Wayanad within a span of four hours.

Many people were feared to have been washed away in the Chaliyar river.

Kerala minister Veena George stated that a team from the Indian Navy would also assist in rescue efforts. She mentioned that a bridge in the district, which connected the affected areas to the nearest town of Chooralmala, had been washed away.
