In his first interview after the violence in JNU, Vice-Chancellor M Jagadesh Kumar said that police did arrive when they were contacted and added that on Saturday 10-12 students came with their faces covered and took control of the data centre.

Speaking to India Today, Jagadesh Kumar denied the claim that he was not present in the campus on Sunday.
