Watch: Bridge collapsed, roads washed away as flash floods hit Sikkim

Parts of National Highway (NH) 10 which connects Bengal to Sikkim were washed away completely after flash floods hit Sikkim on Tuesday night.

Singtham foot bridge collapsed in the state due to the overflowing River Teesta.

The Sikkim administration issued a high alert in the state after a sudden cloudburst over Lhonak Lake led to a sudden increase in water levels in the Teesta. 

Jalpaiguri administration in West Bengal has started evacuating people from the lower catchment area of the river as a precautionary measure.
