Adhyaksh mahoydaya, mein apna tyaag patra rashtrapati ko dene jaa raha hun (Respected Speaker, I am leaving to submit my letter of resignation to the President). With that Atal Bihar Vajpayee ended what is arguably one of his best speeches in Parliament.
The sentence came at the end of a hour-long speech on May 27, 1996 that was to supposed to be followed by a trust vote to test whether Vajpayee's then 13-day-old minority government had enough numbers in the Lok Sabha.
