Vistara's last flight from Odisha took off Monday night, ending the airlineâs operations in the state ahead of its merger with Air India.
The final flight, UK 782, departed from Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar at 8.30 pm, reaching Delhiâs Indira Gandhi International Airport by 10.55 pm.
Vistara, a Tata Group and Singapore Airlines joint venture, is set to fully integrate with Air India, which Tata also owns. The merger, originally announced in 2022, aims to streamline services for passengers. After the merger, Vistaraâs service will continue, with its flights marked by a special four-digit Air India code starting with â2". For instance, flight UK 755 will become AI 2755.Â
Vistaraâs existing routes, schedules, and service standards will remain in place, with the same crews on board.Â
