In response to severe flooding from the Satluj river in Punjab's Firozpur district, the Border Security Force (BSF) has initiated significant relief operations. After 20 villages, including Gati Raju, were cut off, the BSF established medical camps to address health crises such as skin diseases, fever, and other flood-related illnesses. A key strategy announced is the deployment of a floating medical camp. An official stated, 'We will set up a floating medical camp in the villages where you are submerged.' This initiative will use boats to bring doctors and medicines to residents unable to reach the main camps. In addition to providing rations and medical aid to people, the BSF also plans to set up veterinary camps to assist with livestock.
