Video: Union Minister 'hopes' CAA is implemented across India in 7 days

Union Minister Shantanu Thakur said, at a rally in South 24 Parganas, that the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) will be implemented in a week in West Bengal and the rest of India.

However, when talking to India Today TV, Minister Shantanu said he "hopes" CAA will be implemented in India in the next seven days.

The bill introduced by the BJP was passed in both Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha in December 2019. Though it's been over four years since the bill was passed, the rules of the new Act have not been framed yet. The process has got at least 8 extensions.
