Unemployment rate is going up: CMIE's MD & CEO Mahesh Vyas

Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy's (CMIE) MD & CEO Mahesh Vyas today said that the unemployment rate is going up, which is based on scientific survey conducted by them. He further added that even the quality of jobs is deteriorating.

Talking about the reasons for shortage of jobs, Vyas said, "One problem is that the right kinds of jobs are not available. And two, right kind or bad kind, jobs are just not available. So, beyond a point, if jobs becomes of bad quality, which include, saying whose wages are really low, then people will feel discourage from doing these jobs."
