Top LeT commander gunned down in Shopian encounter

Top commander of terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba was killed in an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian area on Monday. Another terrorist was also eliminated by the forces during the gunfight. According to Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Vijay Kumar, the LeT commander has been identified as Ishfaq Dar alias Abu Akram. He was active in the Valley since 2017.

Incriminating materials including arms and ammunition were recovered from the encounter site. A search operation is currently underway.
