TMC MP Saugata Roy Caught Smoking In Parliament Complex; Union Ministers Object

In a controversy during the Winter Session, Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Saugata Roy was caught smoking inside the Parliament complex. The senior leader was seen smoking outside the Makar Dwar, prompting a confrontation with Union Ministers Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Giriraj Singh, who warned him about public health risks. Defiant, Roy retorted, 'Shekhawat hamara speaker hai kya' (Is Shekhawat our Speaker?). The issue was raised in the Lok Sabha by BJP MP Anurag Thakur, who questioned if e-cigarettes were allowed despite the ban. Speaker Om Birla assured action if rules were violated.
