Team of Kerala doctors, nurses head to Mumbai to set up Covid-19 hospital

Kerala, in response, to a query has dispatched the first team of doctors to Maharashtra to aid the state with its handling of the novel coronavirus. This team comprises Dr Santhosh Kumar and Dr Sajeesh Gopalan who will assist the BMC in setting up special Covid-19 hospitals in the city of Mumbai.

Both of the medical professionals have arrived in Mumbai ahead of the team comprising of 50 doctors and 100 nurses who will leave for the city from Kerala in the coming days. The team's first assignment will be to set up and operate a 600-bed Covid-19 hospital on Mumbai's Racecourse Road.
