Stop politicising Kolhapur violence: NCP chief Sharad Pawar

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar has urged political parties not to politicise the Kolhapur violence that broke out in wake of a social media post that allegedly glorified Mughal emperor Aurangzeb and disrespected a Maratha national icon. People from some right-wing outfits in the city called for a Kolhapur bandh on Wednesday, which quickly escalated into violent protests. The protesters gathered at the Shivaji Maharaj Chowk around 10 am and started raising slogans against the two accused who posted objectionable content, demanding action against them.
