Staked claim to form Jharkhand government, oath-taking on Nov 28: Hemant Soren

Jharkhand Mukti Morcha's (JMM) executive president Hemant Soren met the governor on Sunday and staked him claim to form the government, a day after the JMM-led alliance's win in the Assembly elections.

He also tendered his resignation as the Chief Minister of Jharkhand.

The development came after leaders of the INDIA bloc in the state unanimously elected him as the legislature party leader. Soren said the oath-taking ceremony will be held on November 28.

"We have staked a claim to form Government in front of the Governor. I also tendered my resignation to him...The state in-charge of Congress and the RJD were also present there. I will take oath on November 28," he said.
