J&K DGP Nalin Prabhat Confirms 9 Dead In 'Accidental' Blast At Srinagar Police Station

A deadly explosion at the Naugam police station in Srinagar has killed nine people, including forensic and police personnel, and injured more than 30 others. The blast occurred during the handling of a large cache of explosives seized in connection with an interstate terror module case. Addressing the media, Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police, Nalin Prabhat, ruled out a terror strike, stating the explosion was accidental. DGP Nalin Prabhat said, 'However, unfortunately, during this course, last night, around 11.20pm, an accidental explosion has taken place'. The incident caused severe damage to the police station and surrounding buildings.
