Sonia Gandhi to continue as interim Congress president

Hours after the high-octane drama at the CWC meeting on Monday, Sonia Gandhi will continue as the interim president of the Congress party for now.

The action-packed CWC meet ended in a deadlock with demands for change in the party leadership resulting in a stalemate and the Congress reverting to status quo.

Even though Sonia Gandhi insisted on leaving her post as Congress chief, the party has once again looked to her to steer the ship from the troubled waters of its leadership crisis.
