Police have busted a major sex racket, arresting 33 members of a gang that includes six women and six lawyers. The group, active for more than a year, has allegedly extorted more than Rs 20 crore from its victims.
One of the women, Shikha Tiwari, was working as a DJ in a Mumbai hotel. She is accused of honeytrapping and blackmailing a doctor from Jaipur, and was arrested by a Special Operations Group.
Another gangmember, identified as Akanksha Hizkil, was arrested on Tuesday night from Ajmer. She has been identified as one of the group's kingpins, along with her boyfriend, Akshat Sharma.
The modus operandi? The group targeted wealthy victims, threatening to foist rape allegations on them - and even filing some FIRs.
