SC appoints one-man panel to monitor stubble burning

Supreme Court has appointed its retired judge, Madan B Lokur, as one-man committee for monitoring stubble burning in Haryana, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh. Committee will get assistance from chief secretaries of all states.

Delhi's air quality hit an eight-month low on Thursday with stubble burning accounting for only six per cent of the city's PM2.5 concentration, even as a layer of smoky haze lingered over the Delhi-NCR region with the air quality hitting 'very poor' levels on Thursday.
