Sambhal masjid panel chief arrested for allegedly instigating communal riots

The Sambhal masjid panel chief, Jaffar Ali, has been arrested for allegedly instigating communal riots that occurred during a mosque survey in Uttar Pradesh last November. Police claim to have evidence of Ali mobilising a mob and fanning violence during the survey of Jama Masjid. The investigation has led to Ali being identified as the alleged riot mastermind.
